A Tenner for our Talents
Each one of us has a talent, a skill, ability. Will you use whatever talent is yours in response to God's love and generosity and as a way of raising funds for our Churches?. It could be a very worthwhile project and a lot of fun. Just think what we might do!.
Those of you who read the parish report, will have seen that the parish budget includes and item for "fundraising". This is necessary because the income received from firect giving, plate collections, gift aid etc does not meet our annual expensiture. The parish share which we pay to the Church in Wales each year has increased and so have our day-to-day expenses. If our income does not increase at the same rate there is a deficiency which has to be met by Fundraising.
During early October '05 the congregation of St John and St Luke were offered an envelope containing a crisp Ten Pound note. Using our God given talents it is hoped that the Ten pound will be accepted and increaed. On Sunday 20th November '05 the envelopes will be accepted back at both Parish churches. The increased funds will be used to meet the costs of being God's church in this parish.
