The Parish of Porth Newydd
A Celebration of a New Ministry - St. John's Church, Cymmer
On 19th July 2007. St John's held a very special service to celebrate the Licensing of a new Priest for the Parish of Porth Newydd.
The Reverend Christopher Coles was licenced as Priest-in-charge together with Reverend Bev Reaney as a Non Stipendiary Curate. Bishop David Yeoman did the licensing. St John's was full with the congreagation of all three churches in the Parish along with quite an incredible amount of Clergy that came to witness the event.
Father Chris brings his wife Karen and four children, Georgie, Joe, Alexandra and Grace to the Parish and they will live at The Vicarage. We shouldn't forget Harry the black labrador!.
