The Parish of Porth Newydd
Rhondda Deanery Sponsored Walk - 2006
On Saturday, the 1st of April, The Parish of Porth Newydd took part in the Rhondda Deanery, Church in Wales Jubilee Fund Sponsored Walk.
The Jubilee fund supports projects in various parts of the world, including Istrael/Palestine, China, Rwanda, Burkina Faso and South America.
The sponsored walk started from the Statue of Our Lady on Penrhys at 2.30pm and ended at St. John's Church, Ystradfodwg some 2 1/2 miles away. The walk started and ended with prayers.
This was a fund-raising event for the Church organised by St John's Church Wardens and St John's P.C.C
