My message: My father Wallace Crook was baptised in your church in 1911 by William Thomas, the Vicar. His Baptism Certificate has managed to survive the journey from Wales to various parts of Australia. I now have it framed. It is treasured.

Shortly after this message was left on our Guestbook an Australian visitor popped into St. John's to show us a treasured Baptism Certificate from 1913!. Such a coincidence and makes you think was there a mass emigration from Porth to Australia in the early 1900's ?. 1913 was the last year that Rev. William Thomas was in this parish as his last service was held on 10th August 1913 and he died a month later.
